Happy New YearHappy New Year from St. James Lutheran School

HAPPY NEW YEAR from all of us at SJLS!  We are excited about what God is doing in our school in 2012. First of all, we want to thank everyone for all of your wonderful gifts and contributions you have given to SJLS during the past year. Every single item from copy paper to paper towels is greatly appreciated.

Our curriculum at SJLS is founded on both sound academic practices, state standards, and Christian principles.   The curriculum includes a daily chapel time where the children participate in Bible studies through storytelling, reading, drama, puppetry, music, and prayer.  During the first semester we learned about God’s love as we walked through the Old Testament.  Our second semester journey takes us through the New Testament stories and how they apply to our lives.   The special focus for January is Epiphany, Jesus the Boy, John the Baptist, and Jesus’ calling of His apostles.

Winter brings plans for our next school year.   Enrollment for the school year 2012-2013 begins Feb. 2nd for St. James members.  For two weeks, St. James members may enroll children or grandchildren in SJLS before enrollment is opened to the public mid-February.   Please encourage friends and family with preschoolers to come visit us to see how God is working at SJLS.  Parents and grandparents of our three and four year olds please note that space is limited for these two classes.  At this time there is only one class for each age.   The registration fee is $120.00 for all ages.  This includes the class fee of $20.00 that will be used during the school year for all classroom celebrations.

Valentine's Parent Night Out SJLS will have a Parent’s Night Out on February 14th to celebrate Valentine’s Day from 6:00 till 8:30.  Donations will be accepted for the SJLS fund.  Please call the office or send a note in to reserve your spot.  All siblings are welcomed.

Chick-Fil-A Night is January 12th from 5-8 on Broad Street.  I hope to see all of you there!

...where Jesus is Lord and His children grow in Grace, Truth, and Knowledge.

St. James Lutheran School opened August 15, 2005, with classes for three, four, and five-year-olds. In August 2009, SJLS expanded its program to include Extended Care (after school and holiday care) and FIRST GRADE. We continue our growth toward becoming a primary school with the addition of a SECOND GRADE class in August 2011 . The school was founded as God's school and is operated by His principles. The staff, volunteers, and Board are God's dedicated and highly qualified servants whose goal is to help each child master and integrate the highest academic and moral standards.
